Received Consulate Appointment!!

Finally, we have a consulate appointment to complete the adoption in China. However, due to our consulate appointment falling on the week of a holiday, we may have to stay for an extra day in China. Looks like we will be flying out of Raleigh on May 18, 2007. We will post our itinerary once we recieve that information from our agency.

Acceptance Letter

Today, we received a phone call from our agency, Christian World Adoptions, letting us know that we will receive our Acceptance Letter in the mail tomorrow via over night mail. Yippppeeeee!!! We are all so very excited to finally have some news. CWA's best guess for our departure date is either May 18th or May 25th. However, depending on when they can secure the consollate appointment, this could change. We will update the blog once we receive our TA, which should arrive in the next 2-3 weeks. Please continue to pray for God to prepare Jenna's heart for her new family and our family for all of the many wonderful changes we are about to experience.

Our Story

Our family's decision to adopt is best described as an inherent desire to want to make our family grow by adopting. That desire is, in short, an unbelievable feeling that we have always had trouble putting into words. The essence of the desire is this: you spend your whole life knowing that you want to adopt a special child into your life the same way God invites all of us into His loving care. It is difficult to put it any other way for us.

On Friday, August 4, 2006 I found Jenna on a waiting child list only to find out that another family had her file and had a week to make a decision as to whether or not they wanted to pursue adopting her. That was a very long weekend but we prayed and left it in God's hands. I had felt she was out daughter from the moment I laid eyes her. But, I knew God had his own plan, and if she belonged to the other family, we would accept that.

However, as I could not wait any longer I called the agency, Christian World Adoptions, and was told at that time, that the family did not feel they could move forward and pursue adopting her. I was elated - I knew that God had answered our prayers. The following day, we mailed all necessary paperwork to CWA to start the process. Halleluah!

Jenna has been a part of my heart since I can remember. Now, that we have a face and a name to the strings that have been pulling at our hearts, we are so anxious to bring her home and feel so blessed to be a part of her life.
