Our Story

Our family's decision to adopt is best described as an inherent desire to want to make our family grow by adopting. That desire is, in short, an unbelievable feeling that we have always had trouble putting into words. The essence of the desire is this: you spend your whole life knowing that you want to adopt a special child into your life the same way God invites all of us into His loving care. It is difficult to put it any other way for us.

On Friday, August 4, 2006 I found Jenna on a waiting child list only to find out that another family had her file and had a week to make a decision as to whether or not they wanted to pursue adopting her. That was a very long weekend but we prayed and left it in God's hands. I had felt she was out daughter from the moment I laid eyes her. But, I knew God had his own plan, and if she belonged to the other family, we would accept that.

However, as I could not wait any longer I called the agency, Christian World Adoptions, and was told at that time, that the family did not feel they could move forward and pursue adopting her. I was elated - I knew that God had answered our prayers. The following day, we mailed all necessary paperwork to CWA to start the process. Halleluah!

Jenna has been a part of my heart since I can remember. Now, that we have a face and a name to the strings that have been pulling at our hearts, we are so anxious to bring her home and feel so blessed to be a part of her life.
